Apparent explosion leads to apartment fire in Winona

WINONA, Minn. — A possible explosion in a multi-family apartment led to a fire on West 5th Street, according to the Winona Fire Department.

It’s the second fire that led to the displacement of residents in four days that the fire department has battled. No injuries were reported in this one, or the one that happened just before midnight on Christmas eve.

Tuesday’s fire is under investigation, and the American Red Cross is “assisting the displaced tenants,” according to the Winona Fire Department.
