Yet another beach closing in La Crosse, the third this week.

The city airport has closed the gate on Fisherman’s Road leading to Airport Beach, as of noon today.

The closing is the latest response to a large increase in local COVID-19 cases during June.

On Wednesday, the city park department announced that the Pettibone and Black River beaches would be closed until further notice, because some cases of COVID-19 had been traced to people visiting Pettibone.
