La Crosse County ready to host public meetings on diversity issues this month

La Crosse County’s efforts to promote more equity and diversity are now at the stage where citizens will be asked for their opinions at public meetings.

The county is hosting a series of in-person and on-line meetings this month on diversity issues, starting with a meeting in the Town of Holland on Monday night. County board chair Monica Kruse says she thinks other Wisconsin counties should be having similar meetings.

“I can’t imagine that they aren’t,” said Kruse. “This is something that is so front-burner for so many of us that I would have to assume that other counties are also doing that.”

There will be seven virtual meetings, and five in-person during October. Kruse says the sessions are meant to reach people who might not normally attend county government meetings.

The sessions will be led by Chanin Kelly-Rae, the consultant who’s been working in La Crosse County this year on equity and diversity programs. Kelly-Rae is expected to submit a report to the county board early next year.

More information about the DEI project is available online at lacrossecounty.org/diversity.

How about we judge people by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin? Didn’t we all agree this was best about 40 years ago?

Not our County Chairlady. Ms. Monica says “This is so front-burner” Liberals love quotas except when it comes to affirmative action. With AA, they use the New Math-Whites in back. La Crosse has a habit of electing lots of liberal, gentry madams.

Lucenut, Can you deliver a report on that maybe by “early next year”? In the meantime, please submit your progress billings to the County for payment.
