LA CROSSE TALK PM: La Crosse County Sheriff candidate John Siegel

John Siegel stopped by the WIZM studio, as he runs for sheriff in La Crosse County.

La Crosse Talk PM airs weekdays at 5:07 p.m. Listen on the WIZM app, online here, or on 92.3 FM / 1410 AM / 106.7 FM (north of Onalaska)

After talking some football, we did get around to some business on La Crosse Talk PM that dealt with the Sheriff’s Office, including making the job more appealing for deputies, as well as jailers, and how each law enforcement agency — like city police and county sheriff’s — communicates with each other.

Siegel also talked about the Sheriff’s Office being a bigger, better part of the community and how it could be more open to the public.

Siegel, who has been in law enforcement for 29 years — 20 in La Crosse and is in year three of being the investigative captain — is one of two candidates running for sheriff. He’s the Democrat in the race, going against Republican Fritz Leinfelder.
