How are businesses in the La Crosse area holding up in the current economy?  The 7 Rivers Alliance is ready to find out, so it can help companies and their employees do well.

The Alliance has launched its annual business retention survey online.  Chris Hardie, the CEO of the Alliance, says answers to the survey (take it here) may help provide answers as to how some places are doing better than others.

“Houston County in May had a 1.4 percent unemployment,” Hardie said. “That means there were only, I think, a hundred people in Houston County sitting on the sidelines.”

Hardie added that the Houston County jobless figure is “historically” low. Results of the survey will be tallied after the process is complete, at the end of August.

The alliance skipped doing a survey a year ago, because of the pandemic.

Hardie said answers to the survey can actually help develop programs to assist business.

The survey will be available for taking online through the end of August. Anyone in a company can take the survey, as long as only one person does it for a given company.
