UWL students join nationwide protest movement against war in Mideast
Colleges throughout the U.S. have seen political protests this spring, with some of them turning violent. But some students at UW-La Crosse were determined to take a political stand, peacefully on Friday.
An afternoon rally and march in support of Palestine at the UW-L campus drew more than 100 people, with no apparent disturbances.
Emily Anderson was one organizer of the rally, who wanted to show that students at a school the size of UWL can hold political events similar to those found at large universities. Anderson said the main goal of the demonstration was “trying to make sure that those bigger schools aren’t the only ones fighting for the cause, that smaller schools can also fight for it.”
The crowd spent much of the hour-long gathering chanting slogans such as “Stop Funding Genocide,” “Don’t Stay Silent,” and “Use Your Voice, It’s Your Power.”
Participating students gathered at the UWL clock tower, and then marched through part of the campus. The mostly crowd walked a campus path that included State Street and areas near the clock tower and the stadium. In response, one student stood near the Cowley Science building, holding the flag of Israel while the other students were marching.

Sorry, but walking a round, carrying signs, shouting, while spouting misinformed, thoughtless ideas, slogans, and being hateful is not something for which the University can expell someone. They did not commit any crimes or violate school policy. Being wrong is not punishable.

Do they know Hamas’s mission statement is the eradication of Israel.
Supported by the terrorist state of Iran; whose mission statement is the eradication of Israel?
Do they know Jewish people occupied these lands before Christ was born?
Do they care Hamas has used the Palestinian people as human shields for a long time?
Do they know or care that Hamas used millions probably over a hundred million on the underground tunnels and not the Palestinian people?
What has come through loud and clear is the rot these young students have been taught and the anti- semitism

You are spot on. The organizer said she planned this to show a small college can also be a part of the idiotic, anti-semitic, anti-American protest against Israel. They have no idea how evil Iran is who want to kill all Israelis and take over their rightful land. They were never taught world history. They’re clueless about politics too.

Democrats. They have no idea what they are demonstrating for or against. More importantly, this is a dry run demonstration preparing for whatever the democrat’s cause celebre’ happens to be this fall.
