New mural coming to downtown La Crosse parking ramp

A another mural will be going up soon on a downtown La Crosse parking ramp.

The Board of Public Works approved Monday the plan for a three-story high painting of wildflowers at the 3rd Street entrance to the Main Street ramp.

Viroqua artist Natalie Hinahara designed the mural, which will be approximately 8 feet wide and 50 feet tall. She plans to complete the mural by Aug. 1. The cost of the project is $6,572.

It will be the second piece of art painted on that parking structure, joining the Helping Hands mural at the corner of 3rd and State.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
