Another Highway 61 death in Winona

Published

For the second time this week, a woman in their 20s was killed in a crash on Highway 61 in Winona.

Around 1 p.m. Wednesday, a 29-year-old driving a Saturn collied with a semi that was parked on the side of the road, just south of Sugar Loaf View Road.

Names won’t be made public until the family is notified.

Earlier this week, a 20-year-old Winona State student died in a crash, after being hit by an alleged drunk driver, who was traveling the wrong way on Highway 61.

Hannah Goman, a 20-year-old Stevens Point resident, later died in the hospital. She was a passenger in a 2010 Toyota Camry that collided with the 2015 Chevy Silverado.

The driver of that truck, 35-year-old Adam Anderson, was charged with vehicular homicide earlier this week in Winona County Circuit Court.

He’ll make his first court appearance March 2.
