La Crosse sees 31 new COVID-19 cases, Winona at 28; Minnesota over 1,000 cases for 3rd time in week

Another 31 cases of COVID-19 in La Crosse County today, according to state data.

The county now has 1,239, as it is averaging 17.8 cases a day the past 16 days.

Winona County reports another 28 cases — two moved in from other counties. The county is averaging 26.7 cases a day the past eight days and is now at 535 total cases. Prior to that run, Winona hadn’t had double-digit cases in a day since July 26.

In Trempealeau County, there are another 10 cases, according to the state, bringing its total to 431.

In other counties, Buffalo confirmed eight, which brings its case count to 77 total.

Vernon added five and is now at 108, with 12 active, including one in the hospital.

Monroe County added three and now has 291 total with 24 active but none hospitalized.

And Houston County added one and is at 81 with eight active but none hospitalized.

Minnesota: 78,123 cases, 6,592 hospitalizations, 1,837 deaths
Iowa: 67,151 cases, 1,135 deaths


Statewide, Wisconsin reports another 727 cases, 30 hospitalizations and four deaths today.

Minnesota has gone over a thousand cases in a day for the third time ever and third time in the past week with 1,047 exactly. The state reports another 26 hospitalizations and seven deaths, as well.

Iowa data shows another 1,229 cases and three deaths ending Thursday. Iowa has averaged 1,107 cases and nine deaths the past 10 days.
