Chippewa County judge approves sale to another company 

Quillin’s has failed in its effort to acquire the Gordy’s Market in north La Crosse.

A judge in Chippewa County approved the sale of the Gordy’s stores in La Crosse, Galesville and Arcadia to the Nash Finch company.

Quillin’s had appealed the sale of those three stores, claiming that it had obtained the lease to the stores before a September auction.

Quillin’s has one remaining grocery store in La Crosse, on French Island, along with eight other stores in Minnesota and Iowa.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
