The Brothers Grimm hit the stage in La Crescent with an epic fairytale about wishes, family and the choices we make.

James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone’s favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece… and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching.

Cast member, Jaclyn Freeberg, told Z93, “It’s definitely something different than what we have done in the last couple of years.”

Freeberg added, Into The Woods is “a really beautiful tale of teamwork, coming together, through hardships and wishes coming true but not free but ending with hope. There’s fantastic music. The cast is very talented. We have an awesome pit orchestra that has 15 people in it. And they are incredibly talented as well.”

Show times:

  • Friday, July 21 @ 7pm
  • Saturday, July 22 @ 7pm
  • Sunday, July 23 @ 2pm
  • Friday, July 28 @ 7pm
  • Saturday, July 29 @ 7pm
  • Sunday, July 30 @ 2pm

Tickets are $15 each, for all shows, and are available at Quillin’s in La Crescent, Festival Foods in Onalaska and both La Crosse locations, La Crescent-Hokah Community Education and online, here

Freeberg added, since this is the traditional Brothers Grimm fairy tales, this show is recommended for ages 12 and up, with parental guidance.

The group shared an import update on getting to the show this weekend:
