A couple of former Caledonia High School volleyball teammates will compete against each other tonight in the second round of the NCAA Division II women’s volleyball tournament.

Emma Lange and Maria Fruechte were teammates leading the Warriors to the Minnesota Class 2A state championship in 2012.

Tonight, it will be Lange’s No. 1-ranked Concordia-St. Paul vs. Fruechte’s No. 6-ranked Winona State in the second round of the tournament. You should be able to watch by clicking here.

Concordia-St. Paul, the perennial power in Division II the last decade, winning titles every year between 2007-2013, has swept the Warriors 3-0 twice this season, including Nov. 19.

Lange has played a key role for the Golden Bears (30-2) since her freshman season. The 6-foot-1 senior has been a second team all-American the last two seasons.

Fruechte is in her second year at Winona State (27-5), which just defeated No. 4 Minnesota Duluth in the first round, since transferring from Iowa State after her redshirt freshman year.
