La Crosse sees first heroin death of 2015

Two other overdoes could also be from drug

La Crosse County got through an entire year without a heroin-related death in 2014, but the county won’t be as lucky this year.

The medical examiner’s office says one heroin overdose death has been confirmed for 2015 with two similar deaths still being investigated. Two other overdose deaths reportedly resulted from meth.

The number of heroin deaths in the county dropped from five in 2012 to two in 2013 and none last year. The report was made to the county’s heroin task force on Thursday.
