Man facing seventh drunk-driving charge, says he wasn’t driving

Claims he let others, who ran away, drive

He claims he wasn’t driving, but a La Crosse man is still facing a seventh drunk-driving charge after failing a breath test this weekend. 

Timothy Peterson had called for a tow truck because of a flat tire on his SUV. The tow driver called police, because he thought Peterson had been drinking. 

A sheriff’s officer found Peterson alone with his vehicle on a county road near Holmen, Wis.  

Peterson said he let two other people drive his vehicle while he rode, but when the SUV got a flat, the others ran away. A breath test showed Peterson with blood-alcohol level of .18.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
