Woman found with no signs of life

Three La Crosse police officers are getting credit for saving the life of a woman.

Police say three cops, Frank Racich, Dustin Darling, and Trenton Bowe, responded to a house call on State St. in La Crosse on Thursday. Friends of the woman had called police, worried about her well-being.

The three cops found the woman unresponsive on the floor of her apartment. They say she showed no signs of life. Racich started chest compressions. It took several attempts, but he finally got a a pulse.

The woman was taken to the hospital. Apparently, she was just heavily intoxicated. And 17 weeks pregnant. They say her unborn child is doing okay.

The three officers are being recommended for department life saving awards.
