UW’s Cross…State’s Walker Both In Town Today

Governor Walker and the president of the U-W System have found themselves on opposite sides of the budget battle this year.  Today, Walker and Ray Cross will be in different parts of La Crosse at the same time.  While the governor is talking tourism at Copeland Park, Cross will have a series of meetings at the U-W-L campus, including an open forum with students.  President Cross visited the local campus last fall, saying there was pressure to keep costs down in the system.  That was before the governor proposed cutting 300-million dollars from the U-W budget.
