A 29 year old Holmen man accused of killing his girlfriend Sunday, is sitting in an Iowa jail. The criminal complaint against Bryce Anderson is a grisly one.

After Holmen police went to a house Monday night for a welfare check on Anderson, they found a large pool of blood in a bedroom along with a hammer and box cutter. Police then found the dead body of Anderson’s girlfriend, 28 year old Kristen Johnson, in a car in the garage. Cops say she had a belt around her neck and blunt force trauma to her head. Police found a letter signed by Anderson that said he confronted his girlfriend Sunday morning about having an affair.

Police said he then put a belt around her neck and during a struggle, struck her in the head several times and cut her throat with a box cutter. A man then told police he received photos on Sunday on his cell phone from the phone of the woman of her body beaten and bloody. Police said there was a message with the photos that said This is what happens when you are a liar.

Anderson could be charged with first degree intentional homicide.
