Six years running, Mayo in Rochester wins title of best hospital in magazine ranking

It’s a repeat honor for the Mayo Clinic.

Mayo’s home hospital in Rochester has been named the world’s best hospital by Newsweek magazine for the sixth year in a row.

Mayo branch clinics in Florida and Arizona also received high rankings on the list.

Mayo is in the process of completing its new hospital building in La Crosse, which will replace the existing hospital along West Avenue which was formerly known as St. Francis. The $200 million facility in La Crosse will include 96 beds. It’s scheduled to open this fall.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
