Second suspect arrested in Vernon County UTV incident that left woman with fractured vertebrae, ribs

Vernon County is now charging two people in connection with a UTV incident this month, in which a pedestrian was hurt.

Viroqua native Robert Purvis, 21, was arrested for his role in a hit-and-run that happened Feb. 4, when the UTV hit a woman, who was walking on Bekkedal Avenue in Westby. It left the victim with fractured ribs and vertebrae.

Shortly after the accident, 22-year-old Mitchell McKittrick of Westby was arrested for allegedly driving the UTV.

Both McKittrick and Purvis could appear in Vernon County court on Tuesday.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
