A driver went through a locked gate at the La Crosse Regional Airport on Saturday, and got onto a private plane, before police responded to the situation.

Police said officers disabled the plane and took the driver into custody. Charges could be filed this week.

A police news release noted the incident happened at 3:01 p.m. Saturday, when an individual drove through the locked entrance to the airport. Police parked a rescue vehicle in front of the plane, so it couldn’t take off from the runway.

La Crosse’s airport director, Ian Turner, said flights were able to continue as scheduled on Saturday.
