Onalaska resident arrested on charge of delivering fatal drug dose in Jackson County

A fatal drug overdose from last year in Jackson County has led to a reckless homicide charge against an Onalaska resident.

Thirty-three-year-old Aspen Kalina is expected to appear in court Thursday in Black River Falls for a bond hearing.

Kalina was arrested this week for allegedly providing drugs to a person who died at a home in the town of Albion in May of 2023. Police say evidence shows that Kalina had delivered drugs to the victim, who was not immediately identified by the sheriff’s office.

Kalina also has active felony cases in La Crosse and Trempealeau Counties.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
