La Crosse city council member Barb Janssen joined La Crosse Talk PM on Wednesday to discuss the ongoing budget talks, where the library has already stated its closing the south side branch, police and fire are seeing cuts, and a pool could be on the block in a few years.

La Crosse Talk PM airs weekdays at 5:06 p.m. Listen on the WIZM app, online here, or on 92.3 FM / 1410 AM / 106.7 FM (north of Onalaska). Find all the podcasts here or subscribe to La Crosse Talk PM wherever you get your podcasts.

Jansen hit it on the head…become more efficient.

The problem is the dept managers will not become more efficient unless they get their funding squeezed. So yes, they need to have their funding cut. Kudos to the legislature and to the City Council for making this happen. Its unpopular work but its good work.
