Attorneys in the Sage Hicke court case in La Crosse will get a few more weeks to prepare for sentencing.

Hicke was scheduled to be sentenced Thursday on a charge stemming from the shooting death last year of teenager Storm Vondrashek.

Judge Elliott Levine postponed the sentencing hearing for at least two months, because Hicke reportedly violated his bond.

Vondrashek was killed in May of 2022 outside an apartment building near Gundersen in La Crosse.

The homicide charge was dismissed and Hicke was convicted of intimidating a witness.

In court Thursday, prosecutor Jessica Skemp said alleged bond violations by Hicke could lead to a change in sentencing recommendations. Skemp also said a Monroe County case could be combined with the La Crosse County charges.

Levine agreed to reschedule the sentencing until December at the earliest.
