LISTEN: Happy Plants open in La Crosse; Salvation Army discusses homeless situation

Two guest Tuesday on La Crosse Talk PM, beginning with Happy Plants owner Stephanie Perry to talk the new plant shop, followed by the Salvation Army’s Michael Quam on the homeless situation in the area.

Happy Plants Boutique is located (map) in the strip mall off Highway 16, near TJ Maxx in La Crosse. It’s having a grand opening celebration Saturday (noon-5 p.m.) and Sunday (noon-5 p.m., though the store is already open — Wednesdays through Sundays.

As for the homeless situation, Quam — the La Crosse Salvation Army‘s Development Director — discusses some of the ways they’re trying to help the unsheltered, about how many are staying at their facility currently and the group’s Canteen, which provides lunches seven days a week.
