La Crosse back over 100 COVID cases, while Wisconsin, Minnesota set single-day highs for cases, hospitalizations

Another 105 cases of COVID-19 in La Crosse County, while both Wisconsin and Minnesota hit a single-day highs for cases and hospitalizations.

It’s the third time this month the county has had over 100 cases.

The Coulee COVID-19 Collaborative dashboard shows the county now averaging 76 cases a day the past week, when the positivity rate for those tested is 28.3%.

One more was admitted to the hospital, bringing the total of county residents hospitalized to 147.

In surrounding counties, Monroe reported its 11th death from the virus. Here is a look at other data:
VERNON: 14 new cases (570 total – 97 active – 7 hospitalized)
JACKSON: 26 new cases (711 total – 190 active – 5 hospitalized)
TREMPEALEAU: 38 new cases (1,213 total – 315 active – 5 hospitalized)
MONROE: 21 new cases (1,378 total – 304 active – 4 hospitalized)
WINONA: 30 new cases (1,463 total – no other data provided)

Statewide, Wisconsin added 5,771 cases — the previous high was 5,278 on Saturday — 247 hospitalizations and 52 deaths — the second-most ever.

The previous high for hospitalizations was 220 back on Saturday. The single-day high for deaths was 64 on Oct. 27.

In Minnesota, 3,483 cases, 210 hospitalizations and 15 deaths. It’s the first time with over 200 hospitalizations and the third time with over 3,000 cases in a day for the state.

Iowa added 2,972 cases, 164 hospitalizations and 24 deaths. The state has an all-time high 777 currently hospitalized — 182 in the ICU.
