Holiday Fair at La Crosse Center called off because of COVID

La Crosse’s Holiday Fair is the latest big local event to be called off because of COVID-19. 

La Crosse Center director Art Fahey spoke earlier this week about still trying to have the annual craft fair as usual in November, but he tells us that a Coulee Collaborative advisory against large gatherings forced the Center to make a quick decision.    

The Holiday Fair normally coincides with the opening weekend of gun-deer season, and attracts about 10,000 shoppers, along with more than 100 vendors who sell Christmas-themed gifts and decorations.

Fahey still hopes to have other late-year events at the Center, including the community Thanksgiving dinner and high school wrestling tournaments.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
