La Crosse adds four COVID-19 cases, Wisconsin, Iowa suffer double-digit deaths

Four new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday in La Crosse County, according to state data.

The county now has 977 cases.

Trempealeau County also added four cases and is now at 387 total with 50 of those active and nobody hospitalized, according to its health department.

Every other county added two or less cases — Vernon, Buffalo and Monroe added two, Houston added one and Winona had no new cases for the second consecutive day.

Total cases by county: Winona 279, Monroe 252 (10 active, two hospitalized), Vernon 79 (11 active), Houston 60 (unknown), Buffalo 49 (five active).

Wisconsin: 66,830 cases, 5380 hospitalizations, 1,052 deaths
Minnesota: 66,061 cases, 5,932 hospitalizations, 1,721 deaths
Iowa: 53,201 cases, 1,002 deaths


Statewide, after there were no deaths reported Monday — a first since July 24 — Wisconsin reported 13 Tuesday. There were also another 634 confirmed cases, 53 hospitalizations.

Minnesota confirmed 359 cases, 46 hospitalizations and nine deaths.

Iowa reported state data shows 181 cases, 15 deaths over a 24-hour period Tuesday.
