Wisconsin, Minnesota report most COVID-19 cases in single day

A single-day record for confirmed COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin on Saturday.

The state reported 1,165 cases, 50 hospitalizations and six deaths.

Wisconsin has averaged 874 cases in August. The average in July was 783. In June, it was 341.

The average new hospitlized COVID-19 patients in August is up to 43. In July it was 39. The average in June was 29.

Saturday was the sixth time in the past 19 days, Wisconsin confirmed over 1,000 cases in a day.

Minnesota has yet to confirm 1,000 or more cases in a day, but it came close on Saturday, setting a single-day record at 924. It’s only the second time the state has had over 900 cases in a day.

The state also reported 48 hospitalizations and eight deaths.

Iowa data showed 384 new cases and 13 deaths Saturday.

Local counties are not reporting stats on the weekends.
