La Crosse adds three, Trempealeau adds five new cases of COVID-19

Three new cases of COVID-19 in La Crosse County and another five cases in Trempealeau County reported Wednesday.

That brings the total to 63 in La Crosse, with 50 having recovered. Nobody is currently in the hospital. The new cases are men in their 70s and 20s, and a woman in her 40s.

Trempealeau now has had a total of 31 cases with 16 recovered.

No other area counties reported new cases.

Wisconsin: 19,400 cases, 616 deaths
Minnesota: 25,870 cases, 1,086 deaths.
Iowa: 20,272 cases, 574 deaths


Statewide, Wisconsin reported nine more deaths and 483 new cases.

The state has had single-digit deaths in three of the past four days, totaling 28 during that span. The four days prior, Wisconsin suffered 71 total deaths.

Minnesota reported another 14 deaths, 372 new cases today. The state hasn’t had single-digit deaths in a day since there were nine on May 18.

Since May 1, Minnesota has had 20 or more deaths 22 days, including five days in the 30s.

Worldwide there are around 6.4 million cases of the virus and 384,000 deaths, according to John Hopkins data. Here’s a look at the the countries with the most cases and deaths across the globe:
