Wisconsin low COVID-19 numbers Tuesday, while Minn., Iowa see opposite; La Crosse and area counties see no new cases

A day after getting two new cases of COVID-19, La Crosse County reported another zero on Tuesday.

The county remains at 36 cases with 30 recovered and one still in the hosptial.


Totals in Wisconsin: 418 deaths, 10,611 cases.
Totals in Minnesota: 614 deaths, 12,494 cases.
Totals in Iowa: 289 deaths, 12,912 cases.


Trempealeau County remains at six cases, after one case was reported Monday, while Vernon County is still at four.

Statewide, Wisconsin had its lowest number of positive tests (193) reported since there were 170 reported April 27. The state also had the second-highest number of tests performed since the pandemic began.

There were nine deaths from the virus in Wisconsin — the third consecutive day of single-digit deaths.

In Minneosta, there were another 695 cases — the fourth-highest in a day — and 23 deaths from the virus. Minnesota has suffered over 20 deaths eight of the past nine days, and 11 of the past 13.

No new cases were reported in Houston or Winona counties. Winona remains at 71 cases, 15 deaths. Houston still has just two cases.

Meanwhile, Iowa suffered its most deaths in a single day (18), along with the fourth-most cases at 539.
