“Best of the River” survey starts for 2020

If you have a few minutes of spare time, organizers of one local tourism survey are starting the 2020 poll earlier than usual this year. 

River Travel Magazine is accepting nominations for the “Best of the River” survey through April 23rd, to be followed by voting throughout May. 

The magazine announced its 2019 results early in the fall last year. 

Nominations are accepted for tourist attractions and businesses in all 10 states along the Mississippi. 

Getting high marks in the 2019 survey were the Charmant Hotel in La Crosse, the Effigy Mounds monument near Marquette, Iowa, and parks such as La Crosse’s Grandad Bluff and Perrot State Park in Trempealeau.

The winners will be announced June 9th.
