La Crosse and Onalaska city offices make changes for virus
City governments in the area have made adjustments to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
The City of Onalaska is closing City Hall and the police and fire department offices, with the public only allowed into City Hall for absentee voting, and the Omni Center also is closed.
In La Crosse, most city government meetings are cancelled through the end of April, except for public works, the plan commission, and council meetings.
Mayor Tim Kabat says city staff will figure out ways that the meetings could be held to include public testimony.
The city council in La Crosse has 13 members, which would exceed the number allowed in meetings under current state orders.
City bills in Onalaska can be paid on-line, by mail, or in a drop box.
