Making a splash at number 7 on WIZM’s list of biggest stories of 2019, the Memorial Pool project.
With a bid to rebuild the old swimming pool at $3.1 million, the new year started bright.
In February, the Ho-Chunk Nation donated $30,000.
But weather delays kept the pool from opening until August 2nd.
Fortunately for swimmers, the park department agreed to keep Memorial open through the end of August.
The 1930s pool closed in 2016 because of problems including large losses of water because of leaks.
