Longtime La Crosse brewmaster set to retire

City Brewery brewmaster Randy Hughes will be calling it quits soon.

Hughes has been brewmaster for 24 years, the longest of any previous one.

His run includes the period of time where the future of the brewery was unknown, after the old owners exited the business, and new investors eventually signed on.

Hughes said his retirement will include helping the brewery a little bit during the week.
