PDC principal resigns after physical abuse case
The Prairie du Chien Middle School principal, who was tried for scrubbing a student’s skin with a harsh chemical, will leave his job early next month.
Aaron Amundson’s resignation takes effect May 3.
Amundson submitted his resignation yesterday to the PdC school board.
He has been principal at Bluff View School for 11 years.
Last year, Amundson was acquitted on a physical abuse charge for causing a chemical burn, when he attempted to take a written message off the hand of a teenage student.
But there were other criticisms of Amundson’s performance as principal, and the family of the injured boy is now suing the Prairie du Chien School District for damages.
