Those with low-to-moderate incomes hit by flooding in Monroe and La Crosse counties may have a way to pay for home repairs.

A $2-million grant program, coordinated by Couleecap, will help pay for restoration work.

That work could include the replacement of furnaces and water heaters, fixing drywall and flooring and man other repairs may also qualify.

The grants are only for those impacted by the flooding that started two weeks ago and must be a primary residence.

They will only be available for those things not covered by insurance and for which there is documentation.

Those who live in the City of La crosse do not qualify.

The income limits are as follows:

  • Monroe County: single person can earn up to $38,000; Family of 4 up to $54,250.
  • La Crosse County: single person can earn up to $40,550; Family of 4 up to $57,900.
