Runaway man caught by police after search in marsh

Man brought to shore in boat, taken away in handcuffs

 
A search for a possible crime suspect who ran to the La Crosse River leads to an apparent arrest. 

La Crosse police put a handcuffed man in a squad car, after a rescue crew brought him to shore in an inflatable raft. 

Police and fire crews were sent to the marsh area near Lang Drive late Thursday morning, following reports of a man who may have gone into the water. 

It’s reported that he may have run from the nearby Menard’s store.

Fire trucks had blocked part of Monitor Street during the search.
