Planners showed board 8 versions of a second ballroom.

The La Crosse Center board reviewed some renderings for a second ballroom.

The planners for the $40-million renovations offered a few ideas Wednesday on where it could be added to the 37-year-old civic center.

Apparently, the board would like to add a second ballroom, being that the upstairs one that’s been part of the building the last 20 years has been in such high demand.

Consultant Russell Gilchrist with the Gensler group guided the board through computer sketches placing that ballroom at different points around the building.

The eight proposals include rooms that could hold anywhere between 300 and 900 people.

The 900-person ballroom was planned for the west side of the center, over Front St.

Gensler will adjust its design concepts based on reactions from the center board.
