Aquinas freshman will be busy in first state meet

Donarski to compete in HJ, 100, 200 and 400 relay.

There’s home field advantage and home court advantage but what Aquinas High School has this weekend is home track advantage.

Lexi Donarski is hoping that pays off, as she will be very busy this weekend during the WIAA state track and field meet.

“It’s really nice to be able to practice on that track every day,” Donarski said.

It’s, of course, the freshman’s first trip to state and there won’t be much time to think. Donarski will compete in the 100-meter dash, the 200, the high jump and 400 relay.

This is the 122nd boys state meet and the 46th girls. It’s been at Roger Herring Stadium at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse since 1990.

Donarski and the rest of the Division 2-3 competitors will begin at 9:30 a.m. today. Division 1 starts at 3 p.m.

Saturday, the meet concludes with finals beginning at 10:30 a.m. – all divisions.

Tickets are $8 per session or $12 for both on Friday.
