Fillmore County moves closer to getting veterans home

Minnesota House and Senate approve fund.

Efforts to establish a 72-bed veterans home in Fillmore County received a boost this week, after a finance committee in cleared room for more funding. 

The committee set aside a $10 million fund to draw on.

“If a bonding committee approves a veterans home anywhere in the state, that new veterans home could access some of these funds,” Minnesota rep. Greg Davids, R-Preston, said. 

Both the House and Senate agreed to the funding, as it now moves to Gov. Mark Dayton’s desk for approval.
