Ho Chunk expanding at a $153 million cost, despite report of casino stagnation

Tribe plans for expanded casino areas and new hotels

While a recent report suggested that the casino gambling market has stagnated in Wisconsin, one tribe is planning A big expansion anyway. 

The Ho Chunk have announced plans for expanded casinos and hotels at their current places in Wisconsin – Black River Falls, Wisconsin Dells and Wittenberg.

Along with expanded casino areas, all three properties are also getting new hotels, all at a cost of around $153 million.

After a long period of rapid growth, gambling at casinos flattened out and even declined somewhat during the last recession, according to the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance.

Not just in the 25 tribal gambling facilities in the state but in the state lottery, as well.
