Congressional candidate Buchholz bringing popular radio host Jim Hightower to La Crosse

Campaign will stop at Cavalier on Saturday evening

He bills himself as America’s No. 1 populist. 

Syndicated radio talk show host and best-selling Jim Hightower, out of Texas, will bring that notoriety to La Crosse on Saturday on a campaign stop for Myron Buchholz. From 5-8 p.m. Hightower and Co. will be at the Cavelier Theater and Lounge, downtown.

The Democratic candidate for Congress is up against longtime incumbent, Ron Kind in the Aug. 9 partisan primary.

Hightower will highlight his opposition to the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal and how his position lines up with that of Buchholz and former Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

Kind supports the trade deal. Buccholz says the pact will simply accelerate the trend of moving American jobs overseas.
