If approved, plan moves to full council for vote

A $40 million improvement package for the La Crosse Center is up for vote tonight.

In the council chambers at 7:30 p.m., a hearing by the city council finance committee will decide on whether the civic center’s improvement plans move on to the full council.

The La Crosse Center board is hoping to get supportive businesses at tonight’s meeting.

Last week, several tourism-related business leaders told the La Crosse Center board that they like the idea of modernizing the building to attract more events and customers.

Doug Farmer on the center’s board believes improvements are necessary to keep the civic center from losing more money.
