UW-L declined to comment on dismissal

An administrator at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, who was involved in a highly-publicized discrimination complaint, reportedly has been dismissed by the university.

Fred Pierce had been an associate vice-chancellor in charge of international education at UW-L.

In 2014, two university employees filed a labor complaint, charging that Pierce put pressure on them to hire his wife as associate director of international education without having an open job search for the post.

He was also accused of retaliating against the two employees for opposing the hiring.

The complaints were settled last year.

The chancellor’s office has declined to comment about Pierce.
