Non-partisan county board races have very partisan feel

Democrats/republicans, making
no secret who they’re backing

Plenty at stake for democrats and republicans in this election year, including non-partisan county board races.

Neither La Crosse democrats nor republicans are making it a secret that they’re backing candidates for county board.

It’s important to have people elected to local offices sharing ideals of the democratic party, says chairperson Vicki Burke, even if the offices are supposed to be non-partisan

“I’ve been a county board supervisor since 2000,” she said, “I really try to approach (the) position in a non- partisan way.”

The deadline is today for those running for offices in spring elections, including county board.
