Competition takes place Dec. 5

Playing with Legos isn’t just kid stuff. A serious Lego competition is planned on December 5 at the Valley View Mall.

This is the third year for the Building Bricks for Hope contest, raising money for the Hope Academy run by the Family and Children’s Center.

Event organizer Amanda Jalensky says that not only will judges evaluate the artworks on how they look, they’ll also consider the story behind each Lego creation.

Jalensky says the field for the contest is about half full now. A new individual category including adults has been added to this year’s competition.
