Health ins. rates lowering, but still one of highest in country

Citizen Action trying to help those enrolling for insurance

As open enrollment nears for health insurance, Citizen Action of Wisconsin is trying to help those signing up. 

Citizen Action’s Kevin Kane says premium costs are lowering, but Wisconsin still has the fourth-highest premium cost base in the country.

The group conducted a preliminary review of the health insurance premiums in order to give consumers more timely information than has been provided by the government. 

And, when asked about rates in the La Crosse area, which have been one of the highest in the state for years, Kane said the average silver plan in this area is down by 4.1 percent. That equates to around $360 a month.
