Woman “flipped out” after husband told her parents about pending divorce

She reportedly attacked her husband with a baseball bat, a file and a metal vase.

Allison McNown Kasten is now charged with domestic abuse. The La Crosse woman is also accused of trying to hit him with a large rock, and of setting a blanket on fire to try burning down the house on Hood Street.

McNown Kasten says she doesn’t remember the fight.

It all started because McNown Kasten’s husband told her – not his – parents about filing for divorce before she could. When she found out, she “flipped out,” in her husband’s words.

The La Crosse man filed for divorce after his wife admitted to having an affair.  

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
