Gavrilos takes over as Chief

Former La Crosse sergeant now in Campbell

Today was the first day on the job for the new town of Campbell police chief. 

Former La Crosse police sergeant Drew Gavrilos is now the top dog for the small department. 

He’s going through some orientation today but will begin the job in earnest on Thursday when he gets sworn in. 

Gavrilos was selected as the top pick for the job after an extended selection process that followed the long legal saga of former chief Tim Kelemen. The now-retired chief was charged for stalking a political activist and then retired with the intent of collecting medical disability benefits.
