Forest Hills going to 9 holes

As it turns out, redesign and construction of a hundred year-old golf course doesn’t come without complications. Manager of La Crosse’s Forest Hills course, Keith Stoll can tell you that.  Even the tunnel that goes under Burlington Northern’s railroad tracks has had some unexpected setbacks. He says, after a heavy rain. water that was supposed to flow easily out of the tunnel inexplicably fills it up.  Stoll says Burlington Northern is figuring out how to fix that problem.  Meanwhile, he expects the rest of the revamped course to be completely ready for play by next summer.  On Monday, Stoll informed the city’s public works board that Forest Hills would go from 18 holes to 9 on August 10th to accomodate the construction.
